Avant-Garde Jazz

Avant-garde jazz is a form of jazz music that incorporates elements of improvisation and experimentation. It developed in the mid-20th century as a result of jazz musicians seeking to explore new sounds and ideas outside the confines of traditional jazz styles. This style of jazz was heavily influenced by the development of the bebop style in the 1940s and 1950s, as well as the influence of classical music, particularly the works of composers such as Arnold Schoenberg and Igor Stravinsky.
