"Dead Serious" was the debut album by the American hip hop duo Das EFX, originally released in 1992. "Dead Serious" was recorded at Firehouse Studios in Brooklyn and the North Shore Soundworks by Charlie Marotta in Long Island. The album became an instant hit after its release, peaking at number 16 on the Billboard 200 and topping the R&B / Hip Hop album charts for a full five weeks. The over-singles "Mic Checka" and the top 40 pop hit "They Want EFX" ensured that the album went platinum in 1993.
