In his first appearance on Blue Note after relinquishing the name The Jazz Messengers to Art Blakey, Horace Silver hit it out of the park with this first-rate hard bop set that featured his indelible composition "Señor Blues."

The pianist was accompanied by a top-notch quintet featuring Donald Byrd on trumpet, Hank Mobley on tenor sax, Doug Watkins on bass and Louis Hayes on drums.

This Blue Note Classic Vinyl Edition was mastered by Kevin Gray from the original master tapes and pressed on 180g vinyl at Optimal.
