With a healthy DIY ethos as their foundation, and with The Fall and Wire as their musical influences, Shame carved out a niche for themselves in the South London music scene, fearlessly developing their sincere, angular, whipping post-punk

The ten songs on "Songs of Praise" leave no questions unanswered. Whether it's "Gold Hole," a tongue-in-cheek takedown of rock narcissism, or the single "Concrete," which describes the overwhelming moment of realizing a doomed relationship, or the frustrated "Tasteless," which describes the monotony of everyday life.
