  • On their new album Budos Band process influences from Fela Kuti, Dyke and The Blazers to Black Sabbath and filter them through their own, constantly evolving aesthetics!

When it was time to find a title for their new album, a decision was obvious: "This isn't The Budos Band IV," said drummer Brian Profilio. "It's not just the same again."

In search of sources of inspiration, no matter how near or far, the Budos Band set off on an experimental journey in 2010 after the release of The Budos Band III. Using heavy doses of continent-spanning psychedelic rock, the Budos Band conjures up the occult and enchants the supernatural. Hence the title of the band's new fourth album: "Burnt Offering"

The hardrocking, psychedelic side, which the group already showed on The Budos Band III, unfolds its full power in new songs like "Aphasia", "Trouble In The Sticks" and especially the title track "Burnt Offering". The fuzz guitars resemble an incantation of the gods of the underworld, the sound booms and is raw and the psychedelic element is even more in the foreground.

"Burnt Offering" differs from earlier Budos records even more in another, significant way: It's their first album without external producers. Capturing the intensity of the Budos Band's electrifying shows on vinyl, making the grooves swing with enthusiasm, was one of the biggest challenges during the production of "Burnt Offering"

The Budos have traveled far and wide - they have played on four continents - since the beginning of the band. A lifetime of world tours and weekly band rehearsals was a factor in the creation of "Burnt Offering" ... and the journey is far from over. As long as you want to inspire new audiences and explore new musical territory, nothing will stop them.
