Brass Band
Brass Band is a type of ensemble music originating in the United Kingdom and is typically made up of a group of brass and percussion instruments. The roots of Brass Band music can be traced back to the mid-19th century, when the Salvation Army and other British brass bands began performing in public parks and other venues. Brass Band music is traditionally characterized by a strong rhythmic pulse, and the use of melodies that are often drawn from folk and traditional sources. The style is also known for its use of countermelodies, often featuring the distinctive sound of the soprano cornet. Over time, the style has evolved to incorporate a wider range of instruments, and more contemporary styles of music.
