Devendra Banhart is an American singer-songwriter and visual artist born in Houston, Texas in 1981. He is widely recognized for his unique and eclectic style of folk music which combines elements of psychedelic, world and indie rock.

Banhart's breakout album was his 2002 debut album, Oh Me Oh My…The Way The Day Goes By The Sun Is Setting Dogs Are Dreaming Lovesongs Of The Christmas Spirit. The album received critical acclaim and was named Album of the Year by Mojo magazine. The standout tracks from the album include “Little Yellow Spider,” “Autumn’s Child,” “At The Hop” and “Lover.”
