Do-Ré-Mi was an Australian pop-rock band formed in Melbourne in 1983 by singer-songwriter Stephen Cummings, drummer Michael Barclay, bassist Jeremy Alsop and guitarist Ian Rilen. The band released three studio albums and five singles between 1983 and 1986 before disbanding in 1987.
Do-Ré-Mi's debut album Domestic Harmony was released in 1983 and was well-received in Australia, spawning three hit singles, including "Man Overboard". The band's follow-up album The Happiest Place in Town was released in 1985 and was their most successful album, reaching number four on the Australian charts. It spawned the hit singles "Walking Down the Street" and "Save Me".
The band's final album, Bigger Than Both of Us, was released in 1986 and featured the hit singles "Get That Joke" and "That's What I Call Love".
Do-Ré-Mi are best remembered for their upbeat, pop-rock sound and witty, intelligent lyrics. An interesting fact about the band is that they featured a female guitarist, Linda Neil, who was the first woman to join an all-male rock band in Australia.
