  • "Ummagumma" is the fourth long player by Pink Floyd. Originally, the record was already released in October 1969.

This is also the band's first double album, consisting of a live and a studio part. The live recordings were made at two concerts at the College of Commerce in Manchester and at the Mother's Club in Cambridge.

During the recording of the studio part Pink Floyd used a not quite common approach. Each of the four band members had a quarter of the LP at their disposal for their own recordings. This resulted in Roger Waters' folk ballad "Grantchester Meadows" and Gilmour's three-part psychedelic rock piece "The Narrow Way", among others.

The recording of "Ummagumma" took place at the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London. Norman Smith, who also worked as a sound engineer for the Beatles, was at the mixing desk, as he had been for their first two albums.

The legendary double album finally back on vinyl

This is what the vinyl lovers among the Pink Floyd fans have been eagerly waiting for. The rock legends are gradually re-releasing all their albums as LPs. In June 2016 the first four albums of the band will be released, including "Ummagumma".

For the reissue all songs of the album were completely remastered by James Guthrie, Joel Plante and Bernie Grundman.

At the same time as "Ummagumma" the albums " The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn", " A Saucerful Of Secrets " and "More" were reissued. All reissues are released on 180 g heavy vinyl. The cover artwork is the original design.

The first double album by Pink Floyd: With "Ummagumma", Pink Floyd's fourth album is finally available again as an LP for the first time in over 20 years, on 180 g heavy vinyl.
