Field Recording
Field recording is a style of music that captures sounds from the environment, either in a studio or in the field, and then uses those sounds to create a musical composition. The style dates back to the late 19th century, when the first sound recordings were made. These early recordings were often made by folklorists and ethnomusicologists, who documented the sounds of the environment and of traditional music in order to preserve them. Over time, field recording has become an increasingly popular and accepted form of music, with a wide range of applications. It is now used in a variety of genres, including electronic, ambient, experimental, and hip-hop music.
