Steve Gunn – Other You (2xLP, Clear Vinyl)

Steve Gunn is a traditionalist and a seeker at the same time. He usually goes into the studio with only loose ideas, never knowing exactly where they will lead him in the end. This time it was similar. Steve Gunn recorded his sixth studio album "Other You" together with legendary producer Rob Schnapf (Beck, Elliott Smith, Kurt Vile) in his Mant Studios in Los Angeles in late 2020 and early 2021. Schnapf played a big part in the making of this album. He not only shook up the soundbed, but also mixed Steve Gunn's voice into the foreground to give the songwriter's poetic lyrics the right stage. With the help of musician friends such as Juliana Barwick, Mary Lattimore, Bridget St. John, Jeff Parker, Bill MacKay, Ben Bertrand and drummer Ryan Sawyer (TV On The Radio, Thurston Moore, Gang Gang Dance), "Other You" is an album with which Steve Gunn not only explores the boundaries of genres, but also his own.
