Foster The People is an American indie pop band formed in Los Angeles, California in 2009. The band consists of Mark Foster (vocals, keyboards, guitar, percussion), Cubbie Fink (bass, vocals), Mark Pontius (drums, percussion), and Isom Innis (keyboards, guitar, percussion, vocals). The band gained popularity in 2010 with their hit single “Pumped Up Kicks,” which was released as a single from their debut album, Torches. The album was released on May 23, 2011, and was certified gold in the United States.

Their second album, Supermodel, was released on March 18, 2014, and featured the hit singles “Coming of Age” and “Best Friend.” The album was certified gold in the United States.

Their third album, Sacred Hearts Club, was released on July 21, 2017, and featured the hit single “Sit Next to Me.”

An interesting fact about Foster The People is that their hit single “Pumped Up Kicks” was used in the 2012 movie The Perks of Being a Wallflower.
