Four Tops Vinyl Records

The Four Tops were an American vocal quartet formed in Detroit, Michigan in 1954. The group's original lineup consisted of lead singer Levi Stubbs, Abdul "Duke" Fakir, Renaldo "Obie" Benson, and Lawrence Payton. They were signed to the Motown label in 1963, and quickly achieved commercial success with their first single, “Baby I Need Your Loving.”

The Four Tops were known for their smooth harmonies and soulful sound, and achieved over 50 hit singles in the United States. Some of their most popular songs include “I Can’t Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch)”, “Reach Out, I’ll Be There”, “Standing in the Shadows of Love”, and “It’s the Same Old Song”. Their standout albums include Reach Out (1967), Four Tops (1965), and Anthology (1974).

An interesting fact about the Four Tops is that they were the longest running Motown act, with their original lineup still intact from 1954 until Payton's death in 1997. The group continued to perform together until 2003, and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990.
