Georg Friedrich Händel (1685-1759) was a German-born composer who is widely regarded as one of the greatest composers of the Baroque era. He is best known for his operas and oratorios, including Messiah and his Water Music suite. He also wrote numerous concerti grossi, chamber music, and organ concertos.

Händel's most notable works include: Water Music (1717), Music for the Royal Fireworks (1749), Messiah (1741), and the operas Rinaldo (1711), Giulio Cesare (1724), and Alcina (1735). His works have been performed by orchestras, choirs, and soloists around the world.

An interesting fact about Händel is that he was born in Germany but moved to England at the age of 25 and became a British citizen in 1727. He was so beloved in England that he was buried in Westminster Abbey, the resting place of many of the country's greatest figures.
