Glitch Hop
Glitch Hop is a subgenre of electronic music that emerged in the early 2000s. It combines elements of hip-hop and IDM (intelligent dance music), and is characterized by heavy basslines, intricate rhythms, and off-kilter sound effects. The sound is often created by manipulating samples of old funk, jazz, and hip-hop tracks, and by combining them with digital sound manipulation. Glitch Hop has become increasingly popular in recent years, with artists such as Flying Lotus, Nosaj Thing, and Hudson Mohawke producing critically acclaimed albums in the genre.
