Gorillaz

Gorillaz is a British virtual band created in 1998 by Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett. The band consists of four animated members: 2D (lead vocals, keyboards), Murdoc Niccals (bass guitar), Noodle (guitar, keyboards), and Russel Hobbs (drums and percussion).

Gorillaz released their debut self-titled album in 2001, which was certified platinum and included the hit singles “Clint Eastwood” and “19-2000.” The band followed this up with the 2005 album Demon Days, which spawned the hit single “Feel Good Inc.” and was certified double platinum. In 2010, Gorillaz released their third album Plastic Beach, which featured the hit singles “Stylo” and “Rhinestone Eyes.” Their fourth album The Fall was released in 2011 and was a departure from their previous albums.

Gorillaz is also well known for their innovative live shows, which feature the band's animated members projected onto large screens while their human counterparts perform the music. They have headlined at festivals such as Glastonbury, Lollapalooza, and the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

An interesting fact about Gorillaz is that the band has released music with over 20 guest musicians, including Snoop Dogg, Bobby Womack, and Mos Def.
