Guadalcanal Diary is an American rock band from Marietta, Georgia, formed in 1982. The original members of the band were Murray Attaway, Jeff Walls, Rick Richards, and Robert Ray.

Their debut album, Walking in the Shadow of the Big Man, was released in 1984. It featured the hit single "Litany (Life Goes On)", which reached the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Other standout songs on the album include "Watusi Rodeo" and "Trouble in the Fields".

The band's follow-up album, Jamboree, was released in 1985. It featured the hit single "Always Saturday", which reached the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Other standout songs on the album include "Livin' in the City", "Loretta", and "Walking in the Shadow of the Big Man".

Their third and final album, Flip-Flop, was released in 1989. It featured the single "Watusi Rodeo", which became the band's biggest hit, reaching number 28 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Other standout songs on the album include "Now You Tell Me", "This Is How It Feels", and "Long Hard Road".

An interesting fact about Guadalcanal Diary is that their song "Walking in the Shadow of the Big Man" was featured in the movie Rain Man, starring Tom Cruise and Dustin Hoffman.
