Blue Öyster Cult – Secret Treaties (Speakers Corner)

Whoever wanted to be heard in the decade of hardened rock wedged in by big names like the Doors, Black Sabbath and the Stones had to have much more to offer than theatrical pathos, biker boogie, an accomplished lead guitarist and sharp-tongued singer. The band Blue Öyster Cult, founded on Long Island in 1971, brought all of this and much more to the stage from the very beginning, telling short scripts that made sharp cinema images run in consciousness-expanded brains. "It's as if Hitchcock and Kubrick were telling each other stories about their sexual pleasure dreams," euphorized Rolling Stone, acknowledging the band's "superb balance between aesthetics and ass-kicking."
