Henry Cow
Henry Cow was a British avant-rock band formed in 1968 by Fred Frith, Tim Hodgkinson, and Chris Cutler. They were one of the few bands to consistently challenge and expand the boundaries of rock music. Their music blended elements of free jazz, modern classical, avant-garde and folk rock, and their improvisation often drew from these influences.
Henry Cow released five albums during their career, including their debut album Legend (1973), which is often cited as their best work. Their other albums include Unrest (1974), Western Culture (1979), Concerts (1979), and Desperate Straights (1975).
Their most popular songs include "Half Asleep", "Erk Gah", and "Beautiful As The Moon".
An interesting fact about Henry Cow is that they disbanded in 1978, but their influence can still be heard in modern avant-rock and post-rock bands such as Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Radiohead.
