The EP '1992' began its triumphal march as a mixtape. Princess Nokia, alias Destiny Nicole Frasqueri, published her songs on Youtube and Soundcloud and set off a hype between January and July 2016. After a few million streams in the virtual world, Frasqueri went on a real concert tour and suddenly sold shows all over the world. In December of last year she returned to the studio in New York to record a few more songs for the new deluxe version of '1992', which, by the way, is the year she was born.In her songs, the artist with a Nigerian and Puerto Rican background addresses her origins and aggressively demonstrates feminist and queer self-confidence. Frasqueri describes himself as a "tomboy", a real tomboy, unconventional and self-confident.She is more than a musician and performer: together with Milah Libin, she founded the Smart Girl Club as an urban, feminist collective. She hosts workshops and poetry events, publishes podcasts on a regular basis, and gives discussions and lectures at universities and colleges.
