Humble Pie
Humble Pie was an English blues rock band that was active from 1969 to 1975. It was formed by Steve Marriott, Peter Frampton, Greg Ridley, and Jerry Shirley. They had a unique sound that was a mix of hard rock and soul.
Their most successful albums include their 1970 release Rock On, which reached #5 on the UK Albums Chart, and Smokin’ from 1972 which reached #6 on the US Billboard 200. Notable singles from these albums include "30 Days in the Hole" and "I Don't Need No Doctor".
The band also released the live album Performance: Rockin' the Fillmore, which was recorded in 1971 at the Fillmore East. The album featured the hit single "Four Day Creep".
An interesting fact about Humble Pie is that they were the first band to play the original Woodstock Festival in 1969. They were initially scheduled to play second on the bill but due to a rain delay they ended up being the first act to take the stage.
