INXS Vinyl Records

INXS is an Australian rock band formed in Sydney in 1977. They are best known for their hits “Need You Tonight,” “Never Tear Us Apart,” and “Suicide Blonde.” The original lineup consisted of lead vocalist Michael Hutchence, bassist Garry Gary Beers, guitarist Tim Farriss, keyboardist Andrew Farriss, drummer Jon Farriss, and saxophonist/guitarist Kirk Pengilly.

Their first album, INXS, was released in 1980 and featured the hit single “Just Keep Walking.” This album was followed by Underneath the Colours (1981), Shabooh Shoobah (1982), The Swing (1984), Listen Like Thieves (1985), and Kick (1987). The latter album became their most successful album, achieving platinum status in the US and featuring the singles “Need You Tonight,” “Devil Inside,” “Never Tear Us Apart,” and “New Sensation.”

INXS continued to have success with their albums X (1990), Welcome to Wherever You Are (1992), Full Moon, Dirty Hearts (1993), Elegantly Wasted (1997), and Switch (2005). Their most successful singles include “What You Need,” “Disappear,” and “Beautiful Girl.”

An interesting fact about INXS is that their most successful album, Kick, was actually the first album to be recorded using MIDI technology.
