Johannes Brahms Vinyl Records
Johannes Brahms was a German composer and pianist who lived from 1833-1897. He was a child prodigy, performing his first piano recital at the age of 11. He was a master of counterpoint, and is renowned for his creative use of harmony and melodic invention. He wrote music for piano, orchestra, chamber ensembles, and solo voices.
Brahms's standout albums include his first two symphonies, Ein Deutsches Requiem, and several chamber works. His most famous works include Hungarian Dances, Variations on a Theme of Haydn, and Liebeslieder Waltzes.
An interesting fact about Brahms is that he was a compulsive composer. He wrote prolifically, and is known to have composed pieces of music in his head while walking in the park or riding in a carriage. He is also said to have thrown away a number of compositions because he was so critical of his own work.
