Julian Lage is a Grammy-nominated American jazz guitarist and composer. He began playing guitar at the age of 5 and by the age of 8 he had already become a sought-after performer and was featured in the documentary Jules at 8. Lage went on to study at the Berklee College of Music in Boston before relocating to the San Francisco Bay Area. Lage has released numerous solo albums and collaborated with a variety of musicians including Chris Eldridge, Eric Harland, Nels Cline, and Carlos Santana. His albums have received critical acclaim, including two Grammy nominations for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album. Some of Lage's standout albums include: Love Hurts (2020), Arclight (2016), and World's Fair (2015). Notable songs from Lage's albums include: "Whisper Not," "The Ramble," and "General Thunder." An interesting fact about Julian Lage is that he was the first ever musician to be featured on the cover of Guitar Player magazine at the age of just 12.
