Kids In The Kitchen
Kids In The Kitchen was an Australian new wave band that was active from 1983 to 1986. The band was formed in Melbourne by brothers Chris and Cameron Allen, who recruited guitarist and keyboardist Andy Newman, bassist Tony Lugton and drummer Steve Sneddon. The band released two studio albums, Shine (1984) and Terrain (1985), and had several hit singles, including "Change In Mood", "Something That You Said" and "Current Stand".
Shine was their most successful album, reaching number five on the Australian albums chart and producing the hit single "Change In Mood". The album also included the singles "Something That You Said" and "Current Stand". Terrain, their second and final album, featured the singles "Borderline" and "Let's Play", and the band toured extensively to support the album.
An interesting fact about Kids In The Kitchen is that they were one of the first bands to incorporate a drum machine into their sound. This was done on their 1984 single "Change In Mood" and it helped to set them apart from other new wave bands of the time.
