Mark-Almond Vinyl Records

Mark-Almond was an American jazz-rock group formed in Los Angeles in 1970 by keyboardist/vocalist Jon Mark and saxophonist/flutist Johnny Almond. The band was known for its combination of jazz, rock, and blues influences, as well as their extensive use of improvisation and vocal harmonies.

The group's debut album, Mark-Almond, was released in 1971, and featured the singles "The City," "My Friend," and "One Way Sunday." The group's second album, Mark-Almond II, was released in 1972 and featured the singles "The Ghetto," "Darkness, Darkness," and "The Fakir."

The group's third album, Rising, was released in 1974 and was their most commercially successful release, with the single "The City" reaching the Top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100. The album also featured the singles "Tumbleweed," "What You Gonna Do," and "You've Got to Take Your Time."

The group's fourth album, To the Heart, was released in 1976 and featured the single "Summer's Coming," which was a Top 20 hit in the UK.

The group disbanded in 1978, but re-formed briefly in 1991 and released one album, In Memory of Johnny Almond.
