McCoy Tyner is a legendary jazz pianist and composer who has been active in the jazz music scene since the early 1960s. He is best known for his work as a member of the John Coltrane Quartet, and his solo recordings, which often feature his signature left-hand block chords. Tyner's most well-known albums include Today and Tomorrow (1963), The Real McCoy (1967), and Echoes of a Friend (1972). His standout songs include "Inception", "Fly With The Wind", "Blues on the Corner", and "African Village".

An interesting fact about McCoy Tyner is that he is the only surviving member of the classic John Coltrane Quartet, which also included saxophonist John Coltrane, bassist Jimmy Garrison, and drummer Elvin Jones.
