Merzbow Vinyl Records
Merzbow is a Japanese noise music project created by musician Masami Akita in 1979. Akita has released over 400 recordings, making Merzbow one of the most prolific recording artists of all time. The project's name is derived from the German artist Kurt Schwitters' artwork Merzbau.
Merzbow's music is based on the use of feedback and distortion to create intense, abstract soundscapes. The project has explored a wide range of styles, including ambient, drone, power electronics, and musique concrète. Merzbow has collaborated with numerous other musicians, including Keiji Haino, Boris, Boris, and Thurston Moore.
Some of Merzbow's standout albums include "Venereology" (1994), "Pulse Demon" (1996), and "Ego Diffusor" (2001). Notable songs include "1930" from "Venereology", "Bird of Fire" from "Pulse Demon", and "Maneki Neko" from "Ego Diffusor".
An interesting fact about Merzbow is that the project has released a variety of material on non-traditional formats, such as USB drives, laser discs, and wax cylinders.
