He has been credited on over 100 albums and has been a part of some of the biggest selling albums of all time, including Christopher Cross' self-titled debut album, which won 5 Grammy Awards in 1981. Omartian has also been credited as a producer, arranger, and/or musician on albums by artists such as Rod Stewart, Barbra Streisand, Paul Anka, and Toto.

Omartian's most successful albums are Christopher Cross, Michael Omartian, and Adam Again. His standout albums include "White Horse" (1977), "The Race" (1979), "Adam Again" (1987), and "The Power of the Cross" (1996).
