  • Interstellar: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack is the soundtrack album for the 2014 film Interstellar (directed by Christopher Nolan), composed by Hans Zimmer, who had previously scored Nolan's Batman film trilogy and Inception. Interstellar is still hugely popular several years after its initial release

The Expanded Edition includes additional music that was not available on the standard CD, as well as digital releases of the original soundtrack.

The epic 2014 science fiction film Interstellar was directed by Christopher Nolan and stars Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain and Michael Caine. The film features a crew of astronauts who are forced to travel through a wormhole in search of a new home for humanity after Earth regresses into a failing agrarian society after crops are contaminated by a plant disease.

The ultimate collector's album for all Hans Zimmer fans!

The four 180g LPs of the audiophile vinyl pressing include, for the first time, all 29 tracks of the legendary "Interstellar" soundtrack - which was originally released only as a truncated 16-track version. Additionally, "Day One Dark" is included, an alternate, extremely dark version of the soundtrack theme that was not used in the film. The gatefold vinyl version includes an insert with liner notes by Hans Zimmer and director Christopher Nolan.

His uplifting, atmospheric soundtrack to Christopher Nolan's sci-fi adventure "Interstellar" earned Hans Zimmer an Oscar and Golden Globe nomination in 2014. To classify the significance of the sound experience of "Interstellar", which has become a modern classic, it is not enough to look at Hans Zimmer's own musical biography. Far more than a further development of the Hans Zimmer signature sound, the sound combination of an organ with electronic and orchestral elements represents a caesura in the history of modern film music and marks a much copied and never achieved lasting sound innovation. Soundtrack. net judges, "Hans Zimmer has created a close to perfect musical canvas for those extremely dedicated to the audio experience" and The Telegraph adds, "the vast sounds of a composer set loose on his grandest ever assignment."

The genesis of the music is also outstanding: Hans Zimmer composed the original music without having seen a scene from the film, based solely on a personal text by Nolan.
