"Disturbing and moving. Not just because that voice reminiscent of Klaus Nomi like- ...who hits you in the face. Or the texts directly from the dis- in the disturbed zone. Also the many guests contribute to the success of the record. There's - "You Are My Sister," which is worth noting, that compared to his duet partner, Boy George is end- ...has the deeper voice. Or the shiny Rufus Wainwright, who does the vocals on "What Can I Do". Devendra Banhart, for her part, is involved in "Spiralling"; Lou Reed, who's already invited Antony as a guest on his albums "The Roven" and "Animal Serenade", plays guitar and reads a poem."
"This record has the sound of a unique declaration of love. Anthony has invited his friends and idols to join in so that he could ...I don't feel the loneliness, he says. On "I Am A Bird Now" can be heard by Devendra Banhart and Rufus Wainwright, yeah, and so did Boy George, who "You Are My Sister" hymn. Lou Reed, the Anthony into his tour ensemble in 2003, the introduction speaks to "Fistful Of Love." Then this vibrato sneaks under a re-enactment of the stone-age muscle shoal beat, and everything's gonna be okay."
