The new soul man: debut of the American singer and guitarist.
Curtis Harding says his music, soul music, speaks for itself. Listening to "Soul Power", the debut of the singer and guitarist from Atlanta, you know why this is so. The rousing sound of his electrified Stratocaster, the foot-stomping backbeat and the passionate lyrics make the old genre come alive again.
Harding's soul style between "Super Fly", fat 70s soul rock and a good portion of nonchalance developed in the US state of Michigan, on the road with his gospel-singing mother and in Atlanta, where he was a backup singer for Cee-Lo Green and became friends with the Black Lips (together with Cole Alexander he plays in the garage soul band Night Sun).
Reviews
