Fontaines D.C. – A Hero's Death

Rave reviews, prizes and awards, performances and even more shows. And constantly on the road, whiskey and beer, tour buses and hotels, with the result that the Irish post-punk band was about to implode. The five band members canceled the rest of their planned shows and took refuge in writing sessions at home in Dublin. There came back the feeling that had once formed them as a band. And here's A Hero’s Death, again with the collaboration of producer Dan Carey. The second album sounds more aggressive, darker if you like, and more complex than the debut and seems to reflect the struggle the band experienced. No short stories or character sketches, but punk poetry in which isolation and disorientation are the themes. And as it should be, Fontaines D.C. has also taken a step towards adulthood. The (repetitive) guitars and drums combined with that wonderfully chirping voice of Chatten are in an even tighter cut jacket. Yeah, damn this is just a good record. An album especially that Dogrel could sometimes surpass. Chatting itself warns fans not to have a "Dogrel Pt" with A Hero´s Death. 2 full of post-punk bangers to be expected.
