  • The second album of the B-52s was released in 1980 and if someone claims that the band never again reached the sound and meaning of their first album, then this is only partially correct. On Wild Planet, the B-52s are perhaps no longer quite so experimental, but they could handle their instruments a little better in the meantime and also dared faster pieces. In the result a again prima moody LP with absolutely danceable party sound and wacky ideas.

    The song Private Idaho integrates a melody from the title track of "Twilight Zone" and with Devil in my Car you should seriously think about revoking the B-52s' driver's license due to lack of mental maturity.
