Nina & Frederik were a popular Dutch/Danish singing duo in the 1950s and 1960s. They are most famous for their distinctive interpretations of traditional folk songs and their own compositions, as well as their unique vocal harmonies.
Nina & Frederik met in 1954, when Frederik was performing with a band at a nightclub in Amsterdam. Nina was in the audience, and the two began a relationship and started performing together.
Their debut album, Nina & Frederik, was released in 1959 and featured a mix of traditional songs and original compositions. It was followed by several more albums over the next decade, including 1960's Around the World with Nina & Frederik, 1961's Now Is the Hour and 1964's Love Songs for Lovers.
Some of their most popular songs include "Be My Baby," "Morgen," "Hine Ma Tov" and "The House of the Rising Sun."
An interesting fact about Nina & Frederik is that they were married in 1959, but did not make it public until 1962, when they released the single "Be My Baby" with the message "This song is dedicated to Frederik and his wife Nina".
