Pat Metheny is an American jazz guitarist and composer who has released over 40 albums throughout his career. He was born in 1954 in Missouri and began playing guitar at the age of eight. He studied jazz in college and released his first album in 1975.

Metheny is known for his unique style of jazz-fusion, blending jazz and rock together. His standout albums include Bright Size Life (1975), American Garage (1979), Offramp (1982), and Secret Story (1992). He has collaborated with a variety of artists, including David Bowie, Herbie Hancock, and Ornette Coleman.

His most popular songs include “Are You Going With Me”, “Last Train Home”, and “Sueño Con Mexico”. He has also won 20 Grammy Awards and was even named as one of the 100 greatest guitarists of all time by Rolling Stone.

An interesting fact about Metheny is that he plays over a dozen instruments and has created his own signature guitars. He also composed the music for the 1996 film The Cable Guy.
