Peggy Lee

Peggy Lee (1920–2002) was an American jazz and popular music singer, songwriter, and composer who had a long and successful career that spanned seven decades. She began her career in the 1930s as a jazz and big band singer before transitioning to pop music in the 1940s. She was renowned for her unique vocal style, which was characterized by a smoky, husky timbre and a wide range of dynamic expression.

Lee's most successful albums include Black Coffee (1956), Latin ala Lee! (1961), and The Man I Love (1967). She also released a number of successful singles, including "Fever" (1958), "Is That All There Is?" (1969), and "I'm a Woman" (1959).

An interesting fact about Peggy Lee is that she was the first woman to ever win a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Vocal Performance, for her 1969 single "Is That All There Is?"
