Peter Gabriel – Up (2xLP)

"This record," PETER GABRIEL explains the content intent of UP, "focuses more on the beginning and end of life, less on its middle. UP has become a very personal album, reflecting on life growing out of death for instance, it also acknowledges patterns and powers that exist beyond our ordinary perception."

On UP, there is an extraordinary list of musicians who contributed. But first and foremost, PETER's main focus was on drums and percussion. In this squad we find Manu Katche, Ged Lynch, Dominic Greensmith and Will White, all on drums, with Mahut Dominique and Hossam Ramzy nestled in the percussion ranks. The faces of David Rhodes (guitar) and Tony Levin (bass), already familiar in the GABRIEL environment, can be spotted throughout the album, as can Danny Thompson on upright bass.
