Phil Lynott

Phil Lynott was an Irish musician and songwriter best known as the frontman of the rock band Thin Lizzy. He was born in the West Bromwich area of England, but was raised in Dublin, Ireland. He rose to fame in the 1970s with Thin Lizzy and wrote and sang some of their biggest hits, including “The Boys Are Back in Town,” “Jailbreak” and “Whiskey in the Jar.”

Thin Lizzy's standout albums include Jailbreak (1976) and Black Rose: A Rock Legend (1979). Jailbreak featured the hit singles "The Boys Are Back in Town" and "Jailbreak", and Black Rose: A Rock Legend featured the hit single "Waiting for an Alibi".

An interesting fact about Phil Lynott is that he was a huge fan of American soul and funk music, which was a major influence on Thin Lizzy's sound. He was also a big fan of the classic horror movie The Mummy and wore a t-shirt with a picture of the movie's poster on it in the music video for "The Boys Are Back in Town".
