Philip Glass is an American composer, widely regarded as one of the most influential composers of the late 20th and early 21th centuries. He is best known for his unique and often controversial style of minimalism which has been described as “music of space”.

An interesting fact about Philip Glass is that he has been nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Score three times, for the films “Kundun” (1997), “The Hours” (2002), and “Notes on a Scandal” (2006). He has also won two Golden Globe Awards for Best Original Score.
