  • With "I Like It When You Sleep, For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It", The present their second album in 1975 and thus the successor of their self-titled debut album, which sold over 800,000 copies. The quartet takes a big step forward with their current, powerful longplayer: Musically the album is carried by pop hooks and electronic elements. A first impression of the sound is given by the gospel-inspired "The Sound", as well as the faster numbers "Love Me" and "Ugh!

"It's 2016 and it's all been done before," says frontman Matty Healy, "so you just have to try to do it a little better. My generation consumes music in a completely non-linear way. We reflect on this, because we ourselves determine how we consume."

I Like It When You Sleep, For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It" was recorded in Los Angeles, where Healy and Daniel, as well as co-producer Mike Crossey, acted as producers. Their love for the sound of the 80's transformed them into a sound that combines lively guitar grooves, experimental, electronic fields and dynamic pop songs into a great whole. Regarding the sound constellation, Healy explains: "Why make just one kind of music when nobody listens to just one kind of music anymore? The idea of a regulated art is completely absurd." The 1975 have created an album that captures the intoxicating feeling of being in love, the crushing feeling of separation and all the fun and drama in between. They have the anticipated mixture of boundless ambition for themselves, coupled with undeniable talent.
