  • "Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars", short "Ziggy Stardust", is the fifth studio album of the legendary British rock musician.
1972 saw the release of the concept album, which deals with a promiscuous and drug-addicted rock star who has marked his life. Between Hard- and Glamrock, Pop and Artrock Bowie tells the story in a total of eleven songs, including the single "Starman" and the title song "Ziggy Stardust".
The musician recorded the album together with his producer Ken Scott at Trident Studios in London. Scott had already produced "Honky Dory" (1971). Bowie received musical support on "Ziggy Stardust" from Mick Ronson (guitar, piano, background vocals, string arrangements), Trevor Bolder (bass), Mick Woodmansey (drums), Rick Wakeman (keyboard) and Dana Gillespie (vocals in the song "It Ain't Easy").
In Great Britain, the album landed at number five on the album charts.
