Gorillaz – Plastic Beach (2xLP)

After a five-year break, the artificial and artistic quartet followed up with Plastic Beach and invited many top-class guest stars as singers, among them Bobby Womack, Mos Def, Snoop Dogg, Lou Reed and Mark E. Smith (The Fall) as well as ex-Clash musicians Mick Jones and Paul Simonon.

On top of that, the album was created in collaboration with the National Orchestra for Oriental Arabic Music and thus brought completely new components into play. Plastic Beach also became a typical Gorillaz-Smash: 2nd place in the UK and USA, 3rd place in the German charts.
