MGMT – Oracular Spectacular

With "Oracular Spectacular", the duo Andrew VanWyngarden and Ben Goldwasser present their first album, which is a mysterious and prophetic collection of hallucination-inducing sounds and hook-laden pop tones. Continuously inverting expectations, the music owes as much to chaos theory as it does to fractal geometry. Unlike their early live shows, which were mostly electronically generated, this album is dominated by traditional rock instruments: Guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, synthesizers - and all recorded live.
