Recorded in 1968 at Olympic Studios London, directed by Steve Marriott & Ronnie Lane and Glyn Johns (engineer) is one of the most important Masterpiece is probably one of the most important albums of the fading 1960s. ogdens' Nut Gone Flake' is often referred to as a concept album but this is only partly true. In fact only the second side of the original LP (on Immediate) has a continuous plot storyline. It tells the psychedelic, abstruse fairy tale of 'Happiness Stan' by Stanley Unwin, who linguistically adopts the Cockney slang of the Band's slang.
