The Avalanches – Wildflower (2xLP)

Well, half an eternity later, the time has come: "Wildflower" comes into the shops via XL. This makes the album the longest awaited second work in music history. Created by Robbie Chater and Tony Di Blasi, "Wildflower" is a wild rollercoaster ride through breakneck loops full of samples that twist your head with shrill sounds

The pre-release single "Frankie Sinatra" offers an apt insight into what's going on, which lets whole worlds emerge in just under four minutes and goes hand in hand with a wacky video as befits its status. Danny Brown and MF Doom will be part of the party, while Wilmoth Houdini and Rogers & Hammerstein will knock out the sound carpet. The video was produced by Fleur & Manu (Drake, A$AP Rocky, M83) and shows a handful of New Orleans residents who accidentally come into contact with hallucinogens at a fair and lose all contact with reality as a result.
