  • The legendary psych collective The Brian Jonestown Massacre are releasing their 18th studio album seven months after their last release. The self-titled work comprises nine songs and will be released on frontman Anton Newcombe's label A Recordings, who also recorded and produced it himself in his Berlin Cobra studio. The release was actually planned for September last year, but due to the extremely successful tour - through the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Europe - the date was postponed to 2019. Recorded a year ago, the new album features Sara Neidorf on drums, Heike Marie Radeker (LeVent) on bass, Hakon Adalsteinsson (BJM, The Third Sound, Gunman And The Holy Ghost) on guitar and Anton Newcombe (as usual) on multiple instruments. Rike Bienert, who was involved in earlier BJM productions can be heard as a guest singer at Tombes Oubliées. Many of the new songs were already used live on the European tour dates in 2018.

Anton Newcombe has released four critically acclaimed albums and an EP with The Brian Jonestown Massacre, a soundtrack and two joint albums with Tess Parks in the past five years. All releases were recorded and produced in Anton's studio in Berlin. BJM's Bon Bon was on the soundtrack of the Palme d'or winning film Dheepan, and Anton wrote the score for Moondogs by Philip John (Svengali, Downton Abbey, Being Human).
