Rage Against The Machine

Rage Against the Machine is an American rap metal band formed in 1991 in Los Angeles, California. The band consists of vocalist Zack de la Rocha, bassist and backing vocalist Tim Commerford, guitarist Tom Morello, and drummer Brad Wilk. Rage Against the Machine's lineup has remained the same since its formation.

Rage Against the Machine is known for their fusion of metal, funk and hip-hop, their strong political lyrics and their energetic live performances. Their debut album, Rage Against the Machine, was released in 1992 and was an instant success, selling over three million copies. It featured the hit single "Killing in the Name," which was a major hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

The band's follow-up albums, Evil Empire (1996) and The Battle of Los Angeles (1999) were both successful, the latter of which sold over three million copies. Other standout albums include Renegades (2000), Live at the Grand Olympic Auditorium (2003) and Live at Finsbury Park (2011).

Their most popular songs include "Killing in the Name," "Bulls on Parade," "Sleep Now in the Fire," "Guerrilla Radio," and "Testify."

An interesting fact about Rage Against the Machine is that they were instrumental in the creation of the rap metal genre, which is a fusion of hip-hop and heavy metal. They were one of the first bands to mix these two genres, paving the way for other bands such as Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park.
