  • Charli XCX is releasing a new album in 2022. "Crash" is the name of the follow-up to 2020's "How I'm Feeling Now," the fifth studio album from the English singer-songwriter, who is also ending her association with her Atlantic Record label. In an open letter, she wrote that it was "the fifth and final album in my record deal."

For the record, Charli XCX brought a whole team of well-known colleagues and producers into the studio. In a statement, she wrote, "I was able to get an incredible group of producers and collaborators to work on 'Crash' using my femme fatale powers and a variety of dark spells and curses. Some of them include A. G. Cook, George Daniel, Deaton Chris Anthony, Lotus IV, Caroline Polachek, Christine and the Queens, Oscar Holter, Digital Farm Animals, Rina Sawayama, Ian Kirkpatrik, Jason Evigan, Justin Raisen, Ariel Rechtshaid, Ilya, Oneohtrix Point Never, Jon Shave and Mike Wise. They will all be locked in my basement forever."

With the songs "Good Ones" and "New Shapes" Charli already released two singles in September and November. In the latter, the singer can be heard alongside Bunny-Is-A-Rider singer Caroline Polachek and French singer-songwriter Christine And The Queens, whom she described as her "demonically talented friends." "New Shapes" in particular was well received by critics for turning away from hyperpop and toward synth pop.

If you want to get an idea yourself, you can already listen to the singles.

Born in Cambridge and raised in Start Hill, Essex, Charli XCX, whose real name is Charlotte Emma Aitchison, started her musical career in 2008 by posting her songs on Myspace. in 2010, she signed her first record deal. After a series of singles and mixtapes came her first album "True Romance" in 2013 and three more long players by 2021, including a couple of top-20 rankings.
