    With the band project The Comet Is Coming he brings out on Impulse! Records, he releases an outrageous mix of jazz, electronica, funk and psychedelic rock that cuts a damn fine figure between jazz club and dance floor

    Together with drummer Betamax and keyboardist Danalogue, King Shabaka, as Hutchings calls himself here, seeks a novel approach to jazz. In a feature in The Guardian, the group is praised to the skies for their "intergalactic mash-up of jazz, Afrobeat and electronics". The young English jazz generation currently in all the media has found its face in Shabaka Hutchings.
